NOTE to attendees on Friday, June 19:
Family members attending who are ages 14 and up are invited to be our guests and join their peers at our monthly We Gotta Dance event from 6-8 pm during the workshop session. Child observation will be provided to the first 30 children ages 13 and under. Contact Strager@thearcsf.org to reserve placement on child observation roster.
Ready Set Fly: Free Travel Workshops at The Arc San Francisco PLUS Onboard Experience at SFO
Ready Set Fly is an air travel support program designed for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and their families. The program includes a trip planning preparatory workshop at The Arc San Francisco as well as an onboard experience at SFO.
READY: Planning your trip
Learn how to set up your family member for success and less stress when flying. Understanding tolerances and triggers. Choosing the right destination and flight. Federal and state laws. Buying insurance and more.
SET: Preparing for travel
Be ready with everything you need, from what’s in your carry-on to wearing the right clothes. Packing fun activities to pass the time. Using helpful social stories to make travel transitions less difficult.
FLY: At the airport; on the plane
From at the gate to in the air, find out how SFO can support you. Family lines, TSA pre-check, kid-friendly spaces and more—all designed to accommodate and support a safe, more relaxing trip.
